What the evidence supports in each Nordic country¶
The current country comparisons predict observed pollen composition on a 31-target response. They are development studies whose outcomes were previously exposed. A country appearing on the map or in a score table does not establish country-wide LRA reconstruction, independent vegetation accuracy or untouched confirmation.
| Country | Physical target sites | Selected samples | Scored / attempted site-bins | Refused bins |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Denmark | 1 | 91 | 24 / 24 | 0 |
| Finland | 28 | 1,797 | 435 / 435 | 0 |
| Norway | 52 | 3,544 | 1,084 / 1,178 | 94 |
| Sweden | 3 | 228 | 51 / 54 | 3 |
The DK/FI/NO result and Swedish result own these denominators. Every bin is 500 cal BP wide. Country exclusion removes target-country sites from training before prediction. Denmark's single target site cannot establish between-site Danish performance. Refused Norwegian and Swedish bins remain visible; they are not zero-error predictions.
These cohorts admit zero samples to LRA. Each proposed core still needs its selected chronology, dated basin geometry, eligible count/taxon denominator, parameter version and permitted use together. The source admission account explains the unresolved named-core fields. The separate English LRA result and author-R numerical comparisons do not supply those Nordic inputs.
No matched independent measured-vegetation benchmark has been admitted for these country claims. Measured vegetation evidence explains the pairing refusals. HYDE cropland grids and LandClim map estimates are modeled context, with their own source and time conventions; they are not independent observations of the pollen targets. Follow the atlas walkthrough to inspect one such context cell and reproduce its bounded panel summary.
The scientific results keep age-support sensitivities, numerical correspondence and model comparisons separate. Qualified source, boundary and scientific review decisions remain required. This status table describes the local evidence candidate; it does not assert an accepted four-country scientific release or deployed public availability.
